Stadium
Sheriff Stadium
Tiraspol, Moldova
Once inside, the pitch is natural grass, but the attention is drawn to the barrier between the players and the fans.
The stadium was built by the Sheriff Corporation and opened in 2002. It was designed to meet UEFA Category 4 standards, which required a complete rebuild of the stands and the pitch. The field has underground heating, a practical necessity for the winter months.
The main reason for the ground’s current status is political. European matches were banned in Transnistria following the invasion of Ukraine, so the team now plays its home fixtures in the capital, Chișinău.
