Sirous Ghaeghara Stadium

The name changed twice, and each change tells you who the ground belongs to. Opened in Bandar-e Anzali in 1953 as Diba Stadium, it became Takhti Stadium in 1981, honouring the wrestler Gholamreza Takhti, and kept that name for over four decades. In 2022 it was renamed again, this time at the request of Malavan supporters, for Sirous Ghayeghran, a figure tied to the club's own history rather than a national sporting hero — a rare instance of fans, not officials, choosing the name on the gate.

The ground sits within the Pishgah Hadian Sports Complex on Naveb Safavi street, and it remains Malavan's home in a port city on the Caspian coast, a fixture of Gilan football since the early 1950s. Two rebuilding phases, in 2017 and again in 2022, reshaped the stands around the same pitch, though the exact capacity after each has never settled into a single agreed figure — estimates from various sources have ranged from 8,000 up toward 20,000, which says more about how loosely such totals get recorded at provincial grounds than about the stadium itself.

What has stayed constant is the surface: natural grass, as it was when Diba Stadium opened seven decades ago. For a club whose home has carried three different names, that continuity of pitch and place is the one thing supporters could always point to.
