Sixfields Stadium
The east side of Sixfields was an unfinished building. Work on the East Stand started in 2014, then stopped in June 2015 and a dispute with the contractor, Buckingham Group. In March 2016 temporary seating went into the incomplete structure so the ground could carry 7,724 through the end of the 2015-16 season.
In April 2024 the club said the stand would be completed in the first quarter of 2025; the reopening followed on 15 March 2025. The rebuilt section holds 2,379 rather than 1,974 — an extra 405 seats — and carries ten business boxes, the first the club has had, along with a directors' box and a platform for wheelchair users. The ground now takes 8,203.
Sixfields opened on 15 October 1994 with room for 7,653, and the numbers have crept upward ever since. The move ended a long stay at the County Ground.
Ownership sits apart from the club. The land and the stadium belong to the council — Northampton Council when the ground was built, West Northamptonshire Council today.
