The ground sits tucked against a steep, wooded bank in the Cetnorkivka district. What defines the place is its age and the way it has layered its identity over the decades. Built in 1897, it stands as the oldest modern stadium in Lviv.

The architecture carries a specific history. In the second half of the twentieth century, the venue was handed over to the physical-culture institute, a shift that gave it its current name, Skif Stadium. That era left its mark on the facilities; a four-story building with modern amenities now sits alongside the older stands.

A significant transformation occurred in 2011, when the stadium was prepared for Euro 2012. The renovation brought a new intensity to the space, raising the lighting to 500 lux and installing nine individual athletics tracks around the goal. FC Rukh Lviv plays its home matches here, using the natural grass surface for their games. The ground’s history is written in its former names—Sokół Stadion, Spartak Stadium—but the current structure, with its red track and green field, remains the most complete record of its past.
