Sony Awendo Green Stadium

Sony Awendo Green Stadium sits along the Rongo-Migori Road in the Sare area. It is a working ground for Sony Sugar F.C., owned by the South Nyanza Sugar Company. The capacity is listed as 5,000, though some older records suggest 2,000.

The pitch is natural grass. The stadium has no single origin story. The factory was established in the late 1970s, and the club formed in 1982.

It is also a place for the town itself. In November 2025, it hosted a memorial service for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, organized by the Orange Democratic Movement for residents of Southern Nyanza. The official attendance record is not found, and perhaps it never will be.
