Stadium
Sovcombank Arena
Formerly: Nizhny Novgorod Stadium
The Sovcombank Arena sits on the Strelka, the spit of land where the Oka meets the Volga.
Construction began on 12 June 2015, and the ground opened on 6 May 2018, with the first competitive match already played a few weeks earlier, on 15 April.
It has carried two names since opening. Built and known for years as Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, it took its current title, Sovcombank Arena, under sponsorship.
