Sportcomplex Varkenoord
Most training grounds stay training grounds. Varkenoord has been on the same ground since 1949.
The main pitch — the Hoofdveld, where the U21 and U17 sides play — is laid with hybrid grass. Elsewhere across the site the surfaces split between natural turf and artificial: a 2016 overhaul re-laid the grass pitches and swapped the synthetic systems for FieldTurf Core. The bigger shift came later. Between 2019 and 2021 a new building went up on the site, housing the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre and the RTM Stage concert and theatre hall, and it now serves as the main entrance. The complex kept its name through all of it.
Since the 2021/22 season Feyenoord Vrouwen have been based here alongside the academy sides, which is how a training complex came to hold its attendance record. On 3 October 2021 the women's side met Ajax Vrouwen in the Eredivisie and won 4–1 in front of 2,500 — every seat the ground has. For the academy teams that play here most weeks, the audience is smaller.
