Sportpark Dijkpolder

The Sportpark Dijkpolder is in Maassluis. The surface is artificial turf, laid down in 2010, striping the pitch into neat bands. Behind the far goal a smaller brick building holds the changing rooms; a red staircase leads up to its entrance, and a string of sponsor boards lines the wall. Off to one side a second field sits parallel to the main pitch, fenced off and kept for training. The club that calls this park home, VV Excelsior Maassluis, arrived here in 1967, and the ground has stayed without a major rebuild since. KNVB Cup matches have tested the capacity; one of those fixtures, the club’s 1–0 victory over FC Volendam in November 2023, brought the usual crowds into the stand. The park holds 5,000 spectators, and on matchday the car park fills before the first whistle.
