Stade Achille Hammerel
Long before Racing FC Union Luxembourg existed, the ground at 15 Rue Auguste Lumière was already the place where the national side met visitors from across the border. Luxembourg played France here in 1911, and again in 1914. The pitch kept hosting internationals into the 1940s, even if the venue as it stands dates from 1950.
On 6 June 1971, Stade Achille Hammerel staged the first rock festival held in Luxembourg, with Deep Purple on the bill and a crowd of roughly four thousand.
That tie came in the 1971/72 European Champions' Cup, when Union Luxembourg drew 3,230 spectators. The club returned to Europe in the 1996/97 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. After the 2005 merger that produced Racing FC Union Luxembourg, the ground passed to the new club, and it was here that Racing played its 2021 UEFA Conference League matches.
The main pitch is natural grass; a second surface alongside it is artificial. The stadium sits in the Bonnevoie-Nord / Verlorenkost district.
