Stade Ahmed Achhoud
Rabat has no shortage of bigger arenas, but this one predates almost all of them: Stade Ahmed Achhoud opened in 1919.
It sits in Agdal, a district built up around administration and residential blocks rather than around football, which gives the stadium an odd domestic feel compared with the sprawling national venues elsewhere in the city.
Stade Marocain plays its home matches here, a club whose name carries the weight of the era the stadium was born into, and the pairing of old ground and old name is part of what keeps the place feeling distinct from the newer, purpose-built arenas around Rabat.
A renovation in 2014 brought the facility up to date without erasing its age — the natural grass pitch and the basic footprint of the ground stayed much as they were.
