Stade Amadou Gon Coulibaly

Korhogo, Ivory Coast

The project was commissioned by the Government of Ivory Coast, with the design concept prepared by the French firm EGPI and the main construction carried out by the Chinese state-owned company China National Building Material. The official inauguration ceremony was held on November 4, 2023, attended by Ivorian sports ministers and government authorities. The stadium has a current capacity of 20,000 seated spectators. As it is a new build, the capacity has remained constant since its opening. The playing surface is natural grass. The venue is situated in the northern part of Korhogo, near the Université Péléforo-Gbon-Coulibaly and the Waraniéné area. It serves as the home ground for Club Omnisports de Korhogo, which plays in the Ivorian Ligue 1, having played its first test matches there in October 2023. It also hosts selected matches for the Ivory Coast national team, including a friendly against Gabon in June 2024. The attendance record stands at 19,184 spectators, set during the Round of 16 match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations between Mali and Burkina Faso on January 30, 2024. The stadium has also been used for large political rallies, such as a homage to President Alassane Ouattara on May 18, 2024.
