Stade de la Libération
The Stade de la Libération is a football stadium in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France. It has a capacity of 15,000.
The ground was built to a design by the architect Albert Bonne, work starting in October 1949, with the formal opening arriving on 1 June 1952 — though the job itself was not finished until 1956. It first carried the name Stade municipal Léo-Lagrange before taking the name it holds now.
US Boulogne have made it home ever since, and the record crowd tells its own story: 15,242 came through the gates on 17 April 2010 for a Ligue 1 visit from Olympique de Marseille. The stadium has also hosted the French youth side, who put five past Belgium in 2002, and the France women's team, who beat Northern Ireland 6–0 in 2010.
Beyond the regular tenants, the ground has taken in visitors passing through: Côte d'Ivoire beat the Comoros 3–1 in a 2019 friendly. It also served as a stopping point for the Olympic torch relay.
