Stade Jos Nosbaum

The ground exists because a steel company gave up the land. Arbed handed over the plot in 1929, Union Sportive de Dudelange put up the stands, and the official opening followed on 17 August 1930. It was called Stade Municipal then, and stayed that way for twenty-three years.

The renaming came in 1953, the year Жоз Носбом died. He had run USD for close to two decades, up to the occupation, and remained honorary president until his death.

What has changed most since is the arithmetic of who fits inside. The ground once held 4 650, only 1 700 of them seated. The current figure is 2 558: 1 558 seats, of which 592 sit under the covered stand and 966 on the open main side, plus 1 000 standing places on the uncovered sections. The reduction followed the move towards seating demanded by UEFA for European qualification, and the ground now carries category 2.

Europe is also where the limits show. When Ф91 Дюделанж hosted Карабах in the Лига чемпионов in 2016, the facilities drew criticism for their age, and no substantial rebuild followed.

The senior Luxembourg side has never played here. Younger teams have: the 2006 European Under-17 finals brought Сербия against Чехия, 1:2, and Бельгия against Сербия, 1:1. In the Кубок Люксембурга the ground sees early rounds only; the final is played elsewhere.
