Stade Omar Hamadi
Algiers, Algeria
Formerly: Stade Roger-Lapergue, Stade Communal de Saint-Eugène, Stade de Bologhine
Stade Omar Hamadi sits in the Bologhine district of Algiers.
The stadium has lived through changes to its name and its structure. Opened in 1919 as the Stade Roger-Lapergue, it became the Stade Communal de Saint-Eugène in 1921, then the Stade de Bologhine after independence in 1962. USM Alger has called it home since then, with MC Alger also playing there for a time. The ground has also seen major matches, including the first leg of the 2015 CAF Champions League Final.
Recent years have brought its closure. Structural concerns led to the stadium shutting its doors in 2022, and by August 2024 the Governor of Algiers approved plans for complete demolition to make way for a new sports complex.
