Stadio Alberto Braglia

What sets the Braglia apart is that it opened before the war and has carried three different names through it. It went up in 1936 as the Stadio Comunale, and its first competitive match — a goalless draw between Modena and Cremonese in Serie B — kicked off only after the ground had missed the opening month of the season to finish construction. After the war it became Stadio Cesare Marzari, honouring a Modena player killed in the Spanish Civil War, before taking the name of gymnast Alberto Braglia in 1957, the name it has kept since.

The current shape of the ground owes little to 1936. A four-phase rebuild through the 2000s took capacity from around 17,000 to just over 21,000 by November 2007, with the structural work handled by the MJW studio under Massimo Maggiorecchi. The original central stand, though, still traces back to Umberto Costanzini, the same architect behind Bologna's Dall'Ara. In 2015 the pitch itself changed character too, switching from natural turf to a hybrid grass system.
