Stadio Comunale Mario Matteini

For years the ground in Terranuova Bracciolini carried no name beyond the plain civic label Stadio Comunale. That changed in 2013, when the town renamed it for Mario Matteini, a footballer and coach who had spent his career with local side Terranuovese and died that same year. The tribute gave the ground on Piazza Generale Coralli its current identity, one tied as much to the man who shaped football in the town as to the club that plays there now.

ASD Terranuova Traiana calls it home, on a natural grass pitch inside walls that hold no more than 1,000 people — a figure that places the Stadio Comunale Mario Matteini firmly among the small grounds of Tuscan amateur football, built for a town rather than for a following. New lighting went in during 2021, and further work followed the year after, though local reporting stops short of saying what changed or what it cost.

No record survives of when the ground was first built, who holds any attendance mark there, or what it has hosted beyond the league fixtures of a club several divisions below the professional game.
