Stadio Olimpico di Serravalle
Serravalle, San Marino
Formerly: Stadio Olimpico di Serravalle
For years the pitch suffered from a surface that never settled, until a reconstruction in 2009 brought in the hybrid grass that is in place today. The change arrived just as the stadium prepared for a new role. In 1985 the venue received the name Stadio Olimpico di Serravalle to mark the first Games of the Small States of Europe, and that identity lasted until a fresh renovation in 2014 added a TV studio and modernised the changing rooms. The federation that manages the site, the Federazione Sammarinese Giuoco Calcio (FSGC), gave the stadium its current title, San Marino Stadium, on September 2, 2014.
The capacity is listed at 4,798, though the record attendance for the match against England on March 22, 2013, saw 4,900 through the gates. The stadium has hosted matches for the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship and finals for the Coppa Titano, but its real purpose remains the national team.
