Stadium
Stadion Aldo Drosina
The Stadion Aldo Drosina sits five to ten minutes on foot from the centre of Pula, on the Istrian peninsula, and its story starts in 1939 — a date some English-language references get wrong, pushing it to 1994, but the club's own city keeps the earlier year on record.
What changed over the decades is the west stand. Between 2009 and 2010, the Varaždin-based firm Zagorje Tehnobeton rebuilt it, giving the ground the shape it holds today, home to NK Istra 1961.
The pitch itself only settled into its current form recently. For years the surface was a hybrid weave, part synthetic fibre reinforcing the grass underneath, until resurfacing work finished in July 2024 and left a natural turf pitch in its place.
