Stadion Brügglifeld
The ground carries the name of a district in Suhr, but the land under it belongs to the municipality of Aarau. It is not owned by the club that plays there. Platzgenossenschaft Brügglifeld , an independent cooperative of 41 member-owners, holds the stadium; FC Aarau are tenants of their own home.
It opened on 12 October 1924 and has never been called anything else. That is rarer than it sounds in Swiss football. The terraces were extended in 1959, taking capacity to 13,000 — the high-water mark. What stands now holds 8,450.
The pitch has been the recurring problem. In 2021 the natural surface was reconstructed by Sportrasen Architektur. In April 2023 the club announced it would lay artificial turf under the banner PimpMyBrügglifeld .
