Stadium
Stadion HNK Rijeka
Rijeka, Croatia
Formerly: Stadion Rujevica
The pitch is not the most interesting thing about this ground, though it is natural grass.
After winning the 2017 Croatian championship, HNK Rijeka required a minimum capacity of 8,000 for Champions League qualification. The new northern stand was built in 72 days , a frantic period of construction that finished in July 2017.
It serves as the home of HNK Rijeka, but also regularly hosts the Croatia national team. England played here in 2019 , a UEFA Nations League match that ended 0–0 behind closed doors, a stark contrast to the open views and the port city beyond.
The stadium has no commercial identity, remaining Stadion HNK Rijeka, though it was formerly known as Stadion Rujevica.
