The ground at Kumičićeva 66 exists because members and friends of HNK Orijent 1919 dug it out themselves. It opened on 20 May 1923, built by voluntary labour.
The concrete arrived twelve years later, when the city municipality built the stands in 1935. It had to be reconstructed from the rubble afterwards.
Its biggest night came on 25 August 1996, a 1. HNL match against HNK Rijeka that finished 2–2 with 6,000 people inside — more than the ground is rated to hold now.
Between 2019 and 2023 the club worked through the stadium again: new seating, improvements to the facilities.
The surface is natural grass, and the club has never renamed the place — it takes its name from the neighbourhood, and has kept it.
