Stadion na Sihoti

The new bowl of Štadión Sihoť is located in a setting defined by the river and old fortifications nearby. The transition from the 1960s structure to the current arena happened quietly during a long reconstruction project that finished in February 2021. The current arena features seating that brings the crowd close to the touchline.

The most immediate visual change is the surface. For three years, the pitch was synthetic, bright green under the floodlights, but in September 2024 the groundkeepers laid natural grass. The change is subtle from a distance but alters the way the ball moves across the field. The stands are arranged in geometric patterns.

The stadium has hosted matches for the Slovakia national team and European Under-21 championships, but the scale of the venue suggests it is not built for spectacle. The capacity remains fixed at 6,366, a number that has dropped significantly from the standing-room crowds of the past.
