Stadion Stožice

Stožice sits apart from Ljubljana's older grounds simply by being the newest word on the subject: the city built it as part of the wider Stožice sports park in the Bežigrad district, going up between 2009 and 2010 and opening on 11 August of that year with a friendly between Slovenia and Australia. Everything about it reads as a fresh start rather than an inheritance — the design, by the Ljubljana firm Sadar + Vuga, gives it a shape distinct from the multi-purpose arena built alongside it on the same site, and unlike that arena, the football stadium has kept its plain name throughout, taking on no sponsor.

The pitch is natural grass, run under Javni zavod Šport Ljubljana, the city's public sport institute, out of an address on Vojkova cesta. What sets it apart locally is less the structure than the traffic through it: it serves as the home ground for Olimpija Ljubljana, hosts the Slovenia national team, and since 2024 has also taken in Bravo's matches, making it the shared address for club and country in a capital that does not have many alternatives of comparable scale.
