Stadion Ștefan Dobay
Dumbrăvița is a commune outside Timișoara. The stadium spent most of its life as the plain Stadionul Comunal, before the commune renamed it for Ștefan Dobay.
What stands on Strada Mihai Eminescu now is unremarkable by design: a natural grass pitch, seating for perhaps half of the ground's 1,000 capacity, the rest standing room along touchlines built for lower-league Saturdays rather than occasions. There is no record of when it was actually built, no architect's name attached to it, nothing to suggest it was ever meant to be more than a communal pitch that grew a grandstand.
The one match anyone has bothered to single out came during a promotion play-off, a goalless draw against CSM Reșița that reportedly drew more people through the gates than the ground had ever seen — though nobody wrote down the number. CSC Dumbrăvița has at times had to look elsewhere for bigger nights; when the crowds needed a larger home, the club borrowed Arad's Francisc von Neumann Stadium rather than trying to fit them in here. That absence of scale is, in its way, the point of the place — a stadium built for a commune's own football, named for one of its own.
