Stadion Zemun

The ground on Ugrinovačka is best known for a tie it never staged. When FK Zemun reached the Intertoto Cup in 1995 , the club could not play at home: the stadium did not meet UEFA's criteria, and the home matches were moved to the Crvena Zvezda ground. The same pattern returned in 2007/08, when Zemun reached the Serbian Cup final and the match was played on neutral turf.

Its name has been steadier than the club's. Officially it has been Gradski stadion since the day it opened, and that has not changed once. The club moved around it: as Jedinstvo, which left no trace on the ground at all, and then from 1968 to 1985 as Galenika, when people took to calling the place stadion Galenike. That was habit rather than sponsorship — no company ever bought the name, and the official one carried on underneath.

The largest crowds it drew came for music, and they came close together. Tina Turner played here on 19 August 1990 on the Foreign Affair farewell tour; ten months later, on 11 June 1991, Bob Dylan arrived with the European leg of Still on the Road. Those two nights remain the biggest events the site has hosted.
