Stadionul Dan Păltinișanu
Formerly: Stadionul 1 Mai, Stadionul Politehnica, Stadionul Silviu Bindea
Timișoara opened this ground on 1 May 1963, named Stadionul 1 Mai for the workers' holiday, built through 1960–1963 by hands from the city's own factories. The name changed twice more before settling on Dan Păltinișanu after 1995, tracking the club through its Politehnica and Silviu Bindea years.
Its record crowd had nothing to do with football. On 10 August 1984, 65,000 people packed in for a concert by the Yugoslav singer Lepa Brena.
The ground closed for good on 25 February 2022, its Liga II fixture against Petrolul ending in a walkover after the floodlights failed twice. Stadionul Dan Păltinișanu was demolished in 2025, clearing the site for what is planned as the Heroes of Timișoara Arena.
