Stadionul Eugen Popescu

Târgoviște has had a top-flight club on the ground for barely a decade, but the ground itself dates back to 1949, opened on 7 November of that year and named 7 Noiembrie for the occasion — before the city settled, in 1996, on Eugen Popescu, a former player and coach of the local side.

The current shape of the ground owes almost nothing to that history. Between July 2019 and May 2023, the municipality rebuilt it from the stands up, at a cost of roughly €18 million, with SC Municipal Construct SA as main contractor. One of the old terraces came down first; in its place stands a new covered stand for 4,000, alongside a rebuilt second stand, floodlights rated at 1,800 lux and a 134-camera surveillance system. Capacity dropped from 10,000 to 7,979 in the process — every seat, no terracing left. Chindia Târgoviște, tenants since 2010, returned home on 19 May 2023 with a 2-2 draw against Voluntari in the Liga I play-out, watched by 7,200.

Beyond the club's own fixtures, the Romanian federation has leaned on the venue for age-group and women's internationals — the under-20 side played Euro 2024 qualifiers here, and the women's Cupa României final is scheduled for the ground in June 2025. The pitch itself is fitted with undersoil heating.
