Stadionul Jean Pădăranu

The stadium's history splits neatly around one winter afternoon in 2008. Football had been played on the plot in Parcul Central since 1929, when Gloria's committee secured the land next to the power station, and the ground opened formally on 29 May 1930. For fifty years it carried no name of its own, just "Municipal", and then the club's, before Bistrița's council settled on Jean Pădăreanu in January 2013, honouring a man who had been both player and president at Gloria.

What separates it from the identikit municipal grounds elsewhere in Transylvania is the 2008 rebuild, reopened on 18 December that year: floodlights rated at 1,400 lux switched on the following season, a new scoreboard, access control and cameras, and a natural pitch relaid with undersoil heating, automatic irrigation and proper drainage. What came before that reconstruction, in the seven decades between the opening and the modern works, is thin on record; even the original capacity was never fixed in anything that survives.

The ground has effectively belonged to one badge throughout, though the badge itself has changed hands. ACF Gloria Bistrița played there from 1963 until folding in 2015, and its successor, CS Gloria Bistrița-Năsăud, returned as tenant after the 2018 restructuring — continuity of address standing in for continuity of club.
