Stadium
Stadionul Nicolae Dobrin
Formerly: Stadionul 1 Mai, Stadionul Municipal
Pitești is not a city that has to explain what stadium it means. There is one, and for six decades it carried the name of the man who defined it before the man got the naming: Nicolae Dobrin . The ground opened on 2 May 1964 as Stadionul 1 Mai, was renamed Stadionul Municipal, and only took Dobrin's name later.
That continuity ended in 2023, when the old structure — reduced over the years from an original 17,500 capacity down through 16,500 to a final 15,000 — was demolished outright rather than renovated in phases. The site sat empty for over two years before work on a replacement began in January 2026, still on Strada Nicolae Dobrin, still under the ownership of the Pitești municipality.
