It has had to serve two codes at once for most of its life, handed back and forth between Toulouse FC and Stade Toulousain, and few grounds in France carry that dual identity as visibly. The pitch itself changed character in 2015, when the old turf gave way to AirFibr, a hybrid surface built to survive the wear of two very different sports sharing the same calendar.

Capacity has drifted downward rather than up, from 37,000 in the years after a late-1990s refit down to just over 33,000 now — a rarer trajectory than the usual expansion story, and one that says more about modern seating standards than about the club's ambition.
