Stadium Maksimir
Zagreb, Croatia
Zagreb's largest stadium has kept the same name since it opened on 5 May 1912, taken from the district around it rather than any sponsor or benefactor, and it has never been changed since. Maksimir traces its use back to HŠK Građanski, who played there from the opening year; GNK Dinamo Zagreb took over as tenants in 1948 and has fielded its home matches there ever since, a run now approaching eight decades. NK Lokomotiva also used Maksimir for its home fixtures between 2009 and 2017, and returned again in 2025. The playing surface was relaid in the summer of 2018 as a hybrid pitch, mixing natural grass with a synthetic-fibre reinforcement in a roughly seven-to-three ratio.
