Sumgayit City Stadium
Sumgait, Azerbaijan
Formerly: Sumgait City Stadium
The ground in Sumqayit is the latest version of a stadium that has been rebuilt. The current structure opened in 2023 after a renovation that stripped away the old running track and replaced the stands with 22 sectors. The project was designed to meet UEFA international standards, a change that allows the venue to host matches for the national team and European club competitions. Before the work began, the capacity was under 10,000; the new configuration holds 10,047 spectators.
The playing surface is natural grass, which remains the standard for the Azerbaijan Premier League. The stadium has been the home of Sumgayit FK since 2010, though historical tenants such as Gənclərbirliyi Sumqayıt, Hazər, and Polad also left their mark on the pitch. The official attendance record of 9,300 was set during an April 2024 league match between Sumgayit FK and Qarabağ FK.
The wider complex includes auxiliary facilities for judo, boxing, and karate, alongside administrative offices and a conference hall. FC Dinamo Minsk is scheduled to use the ground for home matches in the UEFA Conference League group stage during the 2024–25 season due to the conflict in Ukraine. A notable fixture on the calendar is the 2024/25 Azerbaijan Cup Final, which is set to take place in June 2025. The venue is managed by the Sumqayit City Executive Power and is located within the 1st Microdistrict of the city.
