The new building rose in two years of construction and opened with a friendly against Hamburger SV, though the first competitive fixture came earlier that summer. The club reversed an initial plan for artificial turf so that the national team could use the venue, a decision that keeps the surface green and the grounds crew busy through the winter.

The stadium has hosted Switzerland in qualifiers and friendlies, once drawing a crowd that pushed past the official capacity when Jamaica visited in 2014. After that, the numbers settled back inside the limits for matches against Estonia, Denmark and Sweden during the UEFA Women's Euro 2025 group stage. FC Luzern still calls the ground home, and the club has picked up points on the pitch even when the wind made the ball unpredictable. The name on the façade changes with sponsorship, but the structure itself remains the same: a simple oval ring with a running track that keeps the distance between fans and players consistent.

There are no grand towers or glass facades here, only concrete and steel arranged to catch the light. When a match goes to review, the silence that follows is louder than it would be in a city centre arena. The stadium fell quiet again after the final whistle, and the players left through a tunnel that opens directly onto the side of the pitch.
