Sydjysk Sparekasse Skansen
Sønderborg, Denmark
Formerly: Broager Sparekasse Skansen, Dybbølhallerne
Opened in 2012, the building replaced the older Dybbølhallerne that had served the town for decades. The new structure arrived with a name borrowed from the local bank, Broager Sparekasse, before the lender merged into Sydjysk Sparekasse. The sign outside changes, but the sport inside remains the same.
SønderjyskE Herrehåndbold plays its games here on the synthetic floor. One thousand seats are fixed, while another thousand tuck neatly into the walls, waiting to be pulled out. The record crowd of 2,200 watched a match against HC Midtjylland in December 2015.
The building also hosts badminton and boxing, but the handball matches draw the attention.
