Stadium
Tanganyika Lake Stadium
Formerly: Tanganyika-See-Stadion, Tanganyika Lake Stadium, Lake Tanganyika Stadium (incorrect database names)
Bukoba sits on the shore of Lake Victoria. Kaitaba Stadium, after Dr Kaitaba, a local leader the ground was named for.
It has stood on Jamhuri Road since 1976, and in nearly five decades there is no record of a rebuild, an expansion, or a renaming beyond the one it started with. The natural grass pitch is kept in playable order, and the ground holds close to 5,000 — the figure is the one that keeps turning up across football databases, even where other entries drift toward numbers several times higher.
It serves as home ground for Kagera Sugar F.C. No record survives of a capacity crowd, a cup final, or any other occasion that pushed the stadium into wider footballing memory.
