The concrete of the ground demolished in 2013 did not leave the site: it went back into the foundations of what stands here now. That old Tehelné pole had carried the name since 1940, and before that, briefly, Slovan Stadion. Its attendance record — 70,000 for Czechoslovakia against Yugoslavia on 18 May 1957 — belongs to a stadium that no longer exists.

When the replacement opened on 3 March 2019, the pitch had been turned through 90 degrees from the old alignment, so that goalkeepers no longer face into the sun. The grass itself came from the Netherlands, laid over drainage built to keep the surface from cutting up badly through a Bratislava winter.

Karol Kállay of Cube Design drew it; Strabag built it. The final cost reached roughly €98.5 million, some €23 million beyond what had been budgeted at the outset. Underneath, parking for a thousand cars; above, LED lighting, cashless payment throughout, facial recognition on the gates and water-to-water heat pumps.

The UEFA Category 4 rating brought the fixtures that follow such a rating. In its first summer the ground took Elán and then Kabát; in July 2020 the Slovak Cup final, Slovan Bratislava against Ružomberok. Red Hot Chili Peppers played the Lovestream Festival here in June 2022, Depeche Mode the following May. On 28 June 2025 England met Germany in the final of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
