Tehtaan kenttä
Tehtaan kenttä sits in Valkeakoski attached to the paper mill that built it and once owned it — the pitch grew up around the factory, not the other way round, and the ground still goes by the nickname "Tehtis" among FC Haka supporters. That industrial lineage is the whole story here: a company built a football pitch for its workers in 1934, and nine decades on the club still plays its Veikkausliiga fixtures on the same patch of Tehtaankatu, just off the address that gives the ground its name.
There is no redevelopment story to tell, no chairman's vanity project, no bid to host a tournament. The surface has moved with the times — the pitch is now artificial turf rather than grass — but the modest scale has stayed put, and at just over three and a half thousand seats it remains a tight, workmanlike arena rather than anything built for spectacle. Visiting sides find little room to breathe here, and Haka have made a virtue of that closeness over the years, at their best when they pressed high up the pitch in front of a crowd that is close enough to the touchline to make itself heard.
What Tehtaan kenttä offers is continuity rather than grandeur: a stadium that has belonged to the same small industrial town since the 1930s, still hosting the same club, still carrying the factory's name.
