The Lamex Stadium
Stevenage, United Kingdom
Formerly: Broadhall Way, The Lamex Stadium, The Stevenage F.C. Stadium
The ground sits where sewage works once stood. The North Stand, added in 2019, is the most recent addition and cost £1.2 million, funded partly through a mini-bond scheme. Before that, the South Stand had been built in 2001 for £600,000, and the West Stand, originally constructed in 1964, was replaced in 1994 and extended again in 1996 to reach 1,800 seats.
The pitch surface changed in May 2024 when hybrid grass was installed, replacing what had been natural grass for decades. The stadium has hosted events beyond football — Olympic warm-up matches in 2012, boxing featuring Billy Joe Saunders in 2019, and music festivals including Groove Odyssey in 2021.
The capacity currently stands at 7,318, though the record attendance of 8,040 remains from an FA Cup fourth-round match against Newcastle United in January 1998, when temporary stands pushed the number higher. That crowd dwarfed the league record of 7,228 set against Luton Town in October 2025. The name has shifted with sponsorship — Broadhall Way until 2009, The Lamex Stadium until 2025, briefly The Stevenage F.C. Stadium, then SPORTA Arena from August 2026.
