The main stand carries the name Thiên Trường in blue letters, and three flags sit above the roofline where the sun catches the plastic sheeting.

The investment came from the People's Committee of Nam Định Province, and engineers including Lê Văn Chấn and Phạm Như Huy oversaw the work. The playing surface is natural grass, with small-leaf varieties imported from Thailand to suit the local climate.

The capacity sits at 30,000, though earlier plans called for 20,000 or 22,000 seats. Thep Xanh Nam Định FC now plays its home matches here, and the track that circles the pitch means supporters are never closer than a few metres to the touchline.
