Axis Bird Stadium sits in Tottori with the mountains framing the horizon, a sight that has not changed since it opened in 1995. The ground was designed from the start as a football venue, without an athletics track. The 2012 renovations added the covered sections visible today after safety reviews following the Tōhoku earthquake. A large video screen was installed later, in 2013, to keep spectators informed during breaks in play.

The pitch is natural grass, which has been replaced over the years to keep up with the standards of the J3 League. When the ground was upgraded for the 2002 World Cup, it hosted a friendly between Ecuador and Senegal, but the stadium has mostly served as a training base and a home for the local club, Gainare Tottori.

The ground has also hosted rugby matches and athletics events in the past, but the layout is still clearly suited to football. The capacity is listed at 16,033, which is higher than the original figure of 15,000, a result of the seating adjustments made during the various phases of construction and renovation.
