Turner Soccer Complex
Athens, United States
Formerly: UGA Soccer Stadium, Georgia Soccer Stadium
The Turner Soccer Complex sits at the edge of the University of Georgia campus, tucked along 2330 South Milledge Avenue . It is not a place built for spectacle.
It opened in 1998 under a different title, the UGA Soccer Stadium. The change came later, in 2006, when the facility was renamed for Hoyt "Jack" Turner, a former athlete and donor. The new name stuck, though the ground itself remained unchanged. The surface is natural grass. The capacity sits at 1,700 places, though the official count sometimes varies by a handful of seats depending on who is measuring.
What defines the place is not its size but its history inside the game. It hosted the 2000 SE C Women's Soccer Tournament, and since then it has returned regularly for N CAA Division I play. Alabama A&M, Samford, Liberty, Colorado, Ohio State — each team came through those gates for a first-round tie. The ground does not hide from the weather.
Just a pitch where games have been played for twenty years.
