Valby Idrætspark
Formerly: Valby Fælled, Valby Stadion
Valby Idrætspark sits in the Valby district, built between 1937 and 1939 by architects Edvard Thomsen and Preben Hansen, whose design won an award the year it opened. The ground took its current name — and hosted its first match under it — on 18 August 1942, though older references still call it by its original name, Valby Fælled, a nod to the common land it once was.
The complex belongs to the City of Copenhagen. The main pitch has since moved to artificial turf.
Valby Idrætspark is not a single-purpose football venue but a wider sports park, with the stadium bowl as its centrepiece holding 12,000.
