Vejlby Stadium

The record crowd here was set nearly half a century ago: 11,763 came through the gates on 7 September 1978 to watch IK Skovbakken lose 4–2 to AGF in the Danish 1st Division. Skovbakken merged with Vejlby IK in 2016 to form VSK Aarhus, who play here still.

For a ground built in 1969 for two local clubs in Risskov, north of the city centre, that figure sat untouched for decades — until AGF needed somewhere to go. From the start of the 2025 spring season until the new Aarhus Stadium opened in 2026, the Superliga club made Vejlby their temporary home, and the ground was rebuilt around them at a cost of more than DKK 50 million. A hybrid pitch went in. Four stands were set close to the touchlines, and a new main grandstand, put up over the summer of 2025, cost over DKK 10 million on its own and holds 3,400 of the 11,500 places.

The name changed in February 2025 as well, from Vejlby Stadion to Ceres Park Vejlby, under a sponsorship deal — though supporters had long since given it their own name, Pistolero Park.

The old record survived AGF's stay. The closest anyone came was 11,016 against Brøndby IF on 22 March 2026. On 17 May, AGF held their Superliga trophy presentation on the artificial turf here.
