The Visana Stadion FC Thun have played their home matches here since July 9, 2011, when the ground replaced the former Stadion Lachen. The club celebrated their first Swiss Super League title at the venue on May 3, 2026, after a decade that saw them drawn in UEFA Europa League ties against Stoke City and Rapid Wien.

The design prioritises visibility over enclosure. Over the years the building has carried different names: Arena Thun from its opening until 2014, then Stockhornarena through to 2026, before reverting to the current title.

The surface is artificial turf, completed with pitch heating to handle Swiss winters. It was fully renewed in summer 2016 and again in July 2024, with an improved drainage system installed to cope with the region’s rain. For the Women’s Euro 2025, a natural grass pitch was temporarily laid over the synthetic base for group stage matches. The capacity stands at 10,398, split between 8,426 seats and 1,972 standing places.

It does not host Swiss Cup Finals, which remain at neutral venues such as St. Jakob-Park. The ground has also served as a venue for the biennial Arena Fest music festival and occasional classic car shows.
