Vitality Stadium

The land came from the Cooper-Dean family, and the ground that opened on it in December 1910 sits in Boscombe. That inheritance shows in the name: Dean Court is what the place was called before sponsors arrived, and it is what a good number of people still call it.

The attendance record dates from 2 March 1957, when 28,799 came for an FA Cup tie against Manchester United. The reason is the 2001 rebuild, which replaced the old stadium rather than extending it. Nothing since has come close: the highest non-football crowd, for a boxing bill on 27 May 2023, reached 15,000.

The naming history is unusually crowded for a ground this size. Fitness First Stadium ran from 2001, immediately after the rebuild, then Seward Stadium from 2011, then Goldsands Stadium from 2012, then a gap, and Vitality Stadium since 2015.

AFC Bournemouth and Bournemouth Women are the tenants. England have used it for age-group and women's internationals — U-16, U-20, U-21 and the senior women's side. Elton John played here in 2006. The pitch is grass, and the address is King's Park Drive.
