WakeMed Soccer Park

The North Carolina Courage share the ground with an NC State Wolfpack season and a summer USL League Two side, and the calendar has to be carved up between them.

The name on the gate has moved more than once. State Capital Soccer Park lasted a matter of months in 2002 before it became SAS Soccer Park, then WakeMed Soccer Park in 2008. The stadium inside the complex carries its own separate naming rights — Sahlen's Stadium from 2017, and First Horizon Stadium since 2024 — so the park and the ground it contains have gone by different names at the same time for years.

The capacity it now advertises is the product of a rebuild between 2011 and 2013. Around $6.3m went into adding 3,000 seats, corporate boxes and new changing rooms, taking the ground from 7,000 to 10,000. Whether that ceiling holds depends on the fixture. The record stood at 10,434 from October 2023 until Decision Day on 31 October 2025, when the Courage hosted NJ/NY Gotham FC and more than 11,000 got in — the sort of night when the table goes out of the window and the ground finds room it does not normally have.
