LASK left Linz in 2017, with their own new stadium there not ready until 2023, and spent the interval playing Austrian Bundesliga football in a 6,087-seat arena in Pasching. The tenancy is the only reason the ground changed at all: a permanent VIP stand, taken over from SV Grödig, and a new away section went in during 2016 and 2017, for close to a million euros at the time and more than double that once work through 2020 is counted, with the municipality covering 750,000 euros of it.

Sponsors, not builders, have driven the name since: Waldstadion until 2017, TGW Arena through LASK's first two seasons, Raiffeisen Arena from 2019, voestalpine Stadion since 2023.

Floodlights added in 2002, for around 150,000 euros, qualified the ground for youth internationals and, in 2007, for three group matches and a semi-final of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship. It has since hosted the senior Austria side too: six official men's matches, five of them won, among them a 2026 World Cup qualifying win over Cyprus, and one women's fixture. In 2011 it staged the men's World Fastball Championship, final included.

On 26 August 2006, part of a stand dropped fifteen centimetres when its retaining bolts sheared. Nobody was hurt. FC Juniors OÖ play there now, well below the level LASK once brought to Pasching.
