Fletton sits south of the Nene, and the ground has been there long enough that the district grew around it rather than the other way round. Football has been played on the London Road site since 1913, which puts it among the older working grounds in the English league system — not preserved, but used, season after season, with the river a few hundred metres to the north and the terraced streets of the old brickworks quarter pressing in on the other sides.

The name has moved more than the fabric. For most of a century it was simply London Road Stadium, taking its title from the road that runs past it. In 2014 it became the ABAX Stadium under a commercial deal, and on 1 June 2019 it changed again, to the Weston Homes Stadium, under a ten-year sponsorship agreement worth £2m. Supporters and local reporting still fall back on the older name often enough that both are in circulation.

The pitch is natural grass. The postcode, PE2 8AL, places the ground on the Fletton side of the water rather than in the cathedral city centre proper — a distinction that matters locally, and one reason the walk to the ground from the station crosses the river.

Capacity now stands at 15,314, a figure that has been arrived at through decades of rebuilding, reseating and regulation rather than any single reconstruction. What has not changed is the address: the same stretch of London Road it has occupied since before the First World War.
