Woodside Road

The land came as a gift. A local benefactor, Mr Brazier, handed it over in 1892 so that Worthing would have a shared sports ground, and the Pavilion Road Sports Ground took in whoever wanted to use it. Football arrived in 1901, when Worthing FC moved in. The football ground proper was carved out of the northern part of the site in 1937, after the old 13-acre field closed; the southern part went to tennis and bowls. The club has played on the north side ever since.

An artificial 3G surface was laid in 2015, and the ground now carries a sponsor's name, the Sussex Transport Community Stadium. In December 2014 its future was touch and go: the club was close to shutting down under its debts until George Dowell intervened. He is now the majority owner of both club and ground, and building followed — a West Stand in 2023/24, a North Stand in 2024.

Those additions were tested quickly. The attendance record had stood at 3,600, set against Wimbledon on 14 November 1936; on the final day of the 2025/26 season, 4,002 came in for the National League South title decider against Ebbsfleet United. Two years earlier, on 6 May 2024, Worthing had lost the National League South play-off final 4-3 to Braintree Town after extra time, a night preceded by chaos over tickets: the Ticketpass site crashed, the allocation went in twelve hours. In October 2025 the ground hosted the FA Cup first-round draw, broadcast on TNT Sports.
