Yantar
Yantar sits inside Selma, the residential district built on Kaliningrad's northern edge, and locals still call the ground by the neighbourhood's name rather than the one now stencilled on its gate. Construction started alongside the district itself in 2004, and the pitch opened in 2009, once the surrounding streets had gone up around it.
At 3,100 seats, it was never meant to rival the stadiums built for the 2018 World Cup a few miles away; this is a training ground first. The artificial surface reflects that use.
In 2023, the city moved to rename the ground after Yuri Shulyakovsky, the man credited with founding Kaliningrad's rugby school, a decision that has yet to settle into everyday use. Most records, and most people walking past on Ulitsa Soglasiya, still know it simply as Selma.
